Former president of Chile Sebastian Pinera dies in helicopter crash
A helicopter carrying four people including former Chilean President Sebastian Pinera crashed in the Los Ríos region killing the erstwhile leader of the country, according to Minister of Interior Carolina Tohá Tuesday. Three people aboard the billionaire survived the crash and were in stable condition, the Chilean minister said. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, however, reports indicate that there was heavy rainfall in the area. Two separate blasts targeting election offices kill 28, injure over 40 in Balochistan
Two separate blasts in different districts rocked Balochistan, leaving at least 28 dead and over 40 injured on the eve of general elections. In the first incident, at least 15 people were killed when an explosion happened outside an independent candidate’s office in Khanozai, an area in Balochistan’s Pishin district. Govt turns down possibility of internet suspension on election day
A day after the Balochistan government announced the temporary suspension of internet services in areas with “sensitive” polling booths, caretaker Minister for Information Murtaza Solangi Monday ruled out the possibility of an internet shutdown on February 8.
