Fortunately, Lockyer received swift medical aid and was stretchered off the field, receiving supportive applause from the audience. Luton later confirmed that Lockyer was stable and under care at the hospital.
The unfortunate incident echoed Lockyer’s previous heart surgery after a similar collapse during Luton’s Championship play-off final victory in late May.
