Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo etched his name in the annals of sports history as he celebrated his 850th career goal during Al Nassr’s resounding 5-1 victory over Al Hazem in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday.
In a display of remarkable form, Ronaldo found the back of the net for the sixth time in just three games, reinforcing his position as the league’s top scorer with six goals this season.
Since joining Al Nassr from Manchester United in December, Ronaldo has scored an impressive 26 goals in just 30 games. Notably, he celebrated his 800th career goal while at United in December 2021.
Following Saturday’s game, Ronaldo took to social media to express his excitement, stating, “Another outstanding team performance! We keep progressing. I’ve reached 850 career goals, and the count continues.”
With this victory, Al-Nassr now sits four points behind the league leaders, Al-Hilal.
The league leaders, led by Aleksander Mitrovic’s hat-trick, secured a thrilling 4-3 win against Al-Ittihad on Friday, with Karim Benzema also contributing a goal for the hosts.
In another match, Moussa Dembele’s brace propelled Al-Ettifaq to a 3-1 victory over Damac.
Al-Nassr’s triumph extends their unbeaten streak to four matches, while Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq ended a two-match winless run with their victory.
On a different note, an Al-Ahli squad featuring Roberto Firmino, Gabri Veiga, Riyad Mahrez, and Allan Saint-Maximin suffered a 5-1 defeat against Al-Fateh, resulting in a loss of ground at the top of the standings.
