Former president Donald Trump seems to be in trouble as he failed in his attempt to prevent Michael Cohen and Stormy Daniels from testifying at his forthcoming trial.
Originally scheduled for March 25th, the trial has been postponed to mid-April due to a dispute over evidence disclosure.
The trial revolves around money payments Daniels, an adult film actress, receives on Trump’s behalf prior to the 2016 presidential election. He is in trouble for something that happened before he became president.
Michael Cohen gave Daniels money to keep quiet.
Donald Trump’s legal team tried to stop Cohen and Stormy Daniels from talking in court, arguing concerns over credibility and potential financial motives. However, Justice Juan Merchan dismissed their arguments, saying they can testify.
The judge also dismissed Trump’s request to leave out the stories and proof from three people who got secret money. These people are Stormy Daniels, doorman and Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model, who said she had a special relationship with Trump, but he denies her claim.
“The evidence and testimony surrounding these individuals is inextricably intertwined with the narrative of events and is necessary background for the jury,” the judge said.
Trump said he did not do anything wrong. The trial is just one of the legal issues Trump is dealing with right now.
