Malmstrom Air Force Base found itself in the grip of an active shooter alert. The base, located in Great Falls, Montana, entered lockdown at precisely 10:29am, with all personnel instructed to shelter in place.

The threat originated at building 219, triggering a rapid response from the Air Force and emergency personnel. By 10:36am, the Force Protection Condition (FPCON) Delta was implemented, underscoring the severity of the incident.

In an official statement released at 11:57am, the base urged visitors and spectators to steer clear of the affected area, emphasising that public cooperation was crucial for minimising potential injuries and facilitating an effective response.
